Painted Hills
The Painted Hills are one of three units of the John Day National Monument. Red, and orange, and yellow, they glow in the sunset. A few of us shot out of the house to take photos at sunset while the others (Gabe and Jamien) were left to put the three kids to bed. Woo! What a treat to be out in the world on a beautiful night, watching the light change on the Painted Hills, listening to snatches of the flute-like song of the meadowlark brought to our ears on the wind. We even saw antelope on the hills; icing on the cake.
