It turns out that she can write her name

We didn't realize that Navelle could write letters. In fact, Lina had tried to show Navelle how to write N on the chalkboard and Navelle flatly refused to be shown. Later that day, Lina was outside on the deck and saw Navelle inside drawing on the chalkboard. When Lina came inside, she saw Navelle's name written out on the chalkboard. Lina asked Gabe if he had written it there, and he replied that he had not touched the chalkboard. We were astounded. Navelle had written out her name!  We knew that she could spell her name, since she does it consistently either verbally or with magnetic letters. But we had no idea that she could write. The letters that she did write out were very well formed!

Navelle wrote out her name (true, she ran out of space for the last E).  Then she drew a monster face underneath it.
