Forests and Streams

We took a weekend vacation to a nearby wilderness area that has old growth forests, wildlflowers, and crystal clear streams. We spent a lot of time playing in the stream, hiking, picking huckleberries, and fishing.
This photo accurately represents the scene: Navelle is a blur of activity. We're throwing rocks into the water--what else?
Gabe is flyfishing with Navelle on his back. That worked for a little while, until she decided that she wanted to fish too.
Navelle tries her hand at fishing.  "Navelle do it!"
Success! Here she is, holding a fish. She's still talking about this.
Huckleberries, honey. They're tart but Navelle loved them.
Lina picked a few containers of huckleberries to take home. Hucklberry pancakes are floating out there on the horizon.
Our hike home. Navelle hiked for about a mile and then rode in the pack.
