It's always hard to get nice photos of everyone together. It's even hard to get a photograph in which one parent and one kid manage to look decent at the same moment. These days we (the parents) are often disheveled and exhausted, not looking our best for the camera. But here are a few that include us, so you don't think that the kids dispatched us or that we were traded in for much younger models.
Overall, we're managing well. Arthur is a good sleeper, for a fella of his age. We're getting three or four hour chunks of sleep at night, waking to feed him about once or twice. Arthur is growing at about a half a pound a week, which is right on track for a newborn. Navelle is three, and acts her age, much to our delight and annoyance. She is hot and cold about having a new brother. Hot: (on her way out the door to preschool) "I love you, Arthur. I am going to miss you when I go to preschool." Cold: (when she gets back from preschool and Arthur is in the bedroom asleep.) "Where's the baby? Is he gone?" But we're all very much here, enjoying the summer in Oregon, full of berries, fresh fish, and green trees.
