Close to town there is a couple who maintains a greenhouse for butterflies. We went with a group of other kids/moms. Going into the greenhouse is like stepping into the tropics -- the temperature is 90 degrees, it's humid, and there are butterflies all over the place! The kids tried to sit still so butterflies would land on them. Given that they can sit still for only 37 seconds, it didn't work, but it was a nice idea.
Navelle sat very still, holding out her hands, hoping that a butterfly will come land in her hands. No luck. But a butterfly did fly over and skim the top of her head, which seemed to please her.
Back outside, in the cool cloudy weather, the kids put back on their hats and hoods and hammed it up behind a caterpillar cut-out. Navelle is the second from the right.
So cute! I hope we'll see all of you (and baby) again before too long!
