Grandma Janet found a perfect doll for Navelle -- a little astronaut. Thank you, Janet! Navelle is thrilled with the doll, whom she has named Sally, after Sally Ride, the NASA astronaut. Navelle immediately put on her own astronaut helmet (her "bubble helmet") as soon as she saw the doll. After some basic introductions they moved quickly into preparations for their first space flight together. They first checked and compared gear and clothing. Bubble helmet: check. Jet pack: check. Space gloves: check. Once that was settled to satisfaction, the two of them loaded up in the rocket. Sally sat next to Navelle as the copilot. After countdown they blasted off in the rocket and headed to the moon. A safe landing, near a crater, allowed them to take the moon buggy and collect moon cupcakes. A good adventure, and surely the first of many to come.
