Foiled

Another rainy weekend in Oregon. We looked for indoor activities to keep Navelle engaged and entertained. Aluminum foil to the rescue! Recyclables have never been so much fun. Navelle and Gabe made hats out of their foil and then jumped off the steps. You can (barely) see in the photo that the baby gate is now up to the sixth step on the stairway. We've been moving the gate higher and higher on the steps over time to give Navelle practice on the stairs. She's quite good at using the stairs now and soon we won't need the gate at all (we'll keep one at the top of the stairs for later when she starts climbing out of the crib).

Navelle continues to entertain us with the things she's communicating with her new words. Today when she was eating yogurt with her little baby spoon she said to Gabe, "Dada, get BIG spoon." She wanted to scoop it in faster!  And the other day when Gabe was sporting a chin of stubble Navelle said, "Dada, take beard off!" (she's got her commands down quite well). She's learning her colors and still working on numbers and counting to 20. She has a great memory and memorizes most of her books and lots of nursery rhymes. She shows absolutely no interest in building and stacking and she doesn't spend much time sitting and doing small dexterity tasks. She likes to keep moving.
