Playground

There is a playground down the street that we frequent. Navelle loves to be on the swing, and we love it when she's on the swing because it also means she's out of trouble. oh, say, not eating sand or climbing way up high on the big-kid jungle gyms. While she was in the swing on Friday we think that she showed the first outward sign of recognizing that she knows her own name. Someone said "Navelle" and then Navelle tapped herself on the chest and smiled. She's been doing that often ever since and also been trying to say her name, which comes out more like Nene. Navelle's words are really coming together. They're not proper english yet, but Gabe and I can understand most of them. I think she said her first sentence today, which was "walk dog path."  She was referring to an event about 15 minutes earlier when we saw a dog walking by on the sidewalk and I had remarked what a good dog it was to stay on the path (we're trying to teach Navelle to stay on the sidewalk and the dog was modeling good behavior).
Navelle's favorite: the swing
Here she is running across a plankway bridge that dips and rises. She loves that second best.
Her third favorite is the slide. Followed closely by the sandbox.
