Little Fish

Navelle is thirteen months old. She's walking, running, climbing, and practicing at getting faster with every waking moment. Her favorite letter is the lowercase t -- she'll consistently point out the "t" in a list of alphabet letters. On the same vein, her current favorite book is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" about the alphabet climbing up a coconut tree. Navelle's favorite food varies from day to day but recently she's enjoyed blueberries, salmon, and spaghetti. She happily smiles and dances and bobs along when we play music. She still takes two naps a day and sleeps all night, which is great for her parents. A new word, although inconsistent, is "buh-buh" for bye-bye, and sometimes she waves.  Yesterday she played with Lina's sunglasses and tried to put them on her face, which was really funny. She's showing a moderate interest in putting toys into a box or stacking cups together, but since that requires sitting still for a few moments it usually doesn't last long. Since the moment she started walking she likes and almost requires having an item in each hand. Furthermore, she likes those items to match -- two blocks, two dolls, two towels, two spoons, whatever. If you hold up a new matching set she will always drop her existing set and grab for the new set. The "grass is greener" starts early!  We have a few months before the ominous terrible-twos descend upon us, so we're enjoying Navelle as she is at thirteen months -- adorable, chubby, affectionate, playful, and adventurous. A joy!

She later managed to get these glasses on her face...barely.
